The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) has been dedicated to caring for the Broome community for over 40 years. Established in 1978 as the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia, BRAMS provides comprehensive, culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to local Aboriginal people. With a team of experienced health professionals, including Aboriginal Health Workers, GPs, Nurses, Psychologists, and more, BRAMS is committed to improving health outcomes in our community through collaborative efforts. 

How You’ll Make a Difference:

We are now looking for a full-time Finance Officer based in Broome, WA.

This role is accountable for managing financial transactions and systems, reporting to the Finance General Manager, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance within the organisation.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating payroll and managing end-to-end payroll processes
  • Maintaining financial systems and databases
  • Managing rental leases and property maintenance
  • Processing staff travel and accommodation claims
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and legislation
  • Engaging in continuous improvement of financial practices
  • Resolving payroll and financial inquiries from staff
  • Participating in financial audits and month-end tasks

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

To qualify, you will require at least 2 years prior experience in a finance & payroll position. Experience in an Aboriginal or remote community will be held in high regard, as will a qualification in finance.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience in administration practices
  • Understanding of work health and safety principles
  • Knowledge of risk management
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills including time management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
