Established in 1978, Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia. As an Aboriginal community-owned and controlled health service, we strive to offer a holistic, culturally appropriate approach in all our services.

We are experiencing a phase of expansion, with our client base doubling over the past three years. Our team comprises 15 dedicated Aboriginal health workers who play a crucial role in our efforts to align with our care model and work cohesively with the rest of our team.

Our Opportunities

Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) now has an exciting opportunity for full-time, part-time, casual and flexible Allied Health Professionals to join the multidisciplinary healthcare team in Broome, WA.

As a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Pathologist, you will provide services to a caseload of various clients, including older adults and NDIS patients. With the support of your team, you will work to meet the health and wellbeing needs of your clients at home and in the community following a hospital stay.

Your focus will be on enhancing the independence and overall quality of life of your clients, especially those belonging to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in accordance with the BRAMS Model of Care. Efficient and evidence-based clinical service delivery to your clients will be your utmost priority as you strive to optimize their health outcomes and wellbeing.

  • Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists: $110,616 - $125,802 PLUS super!
  • Speech Pathologists: $95,425 - $113,339  PLUS super!

About You 

To thrive in these roles, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions. Graduates are welcome to apply!

You will demonstrate a proven commitment to the principles of primary health care while also possessing a comprehensive understanding of the health concerns impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Maintaining flexibility in your approach to care can help ensure that patients receive the best possible treatment and support.

In addition, you will excel as a collaborative team member, with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities that can be flexibly adapted to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Your proficiency in utilising Microsoft Office or other pertinent electronic databases will showcase your computer literacy. Above all, you will exemplify compassion and dedication as a self-motivated professional passionate about your chosen field.

Please note: Prior to commencement, you will need the following: 

  • National Police Clearance 
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC). 
  • Current Driver's License and the ability to drive to communities as required
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19
