About BRAMS

Established in 1978, Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia. Our commitment to the core principles of Aboriginal self-determination, access, equity, empowerment and reconciliation is unwavering. As an Aboriginal community-owned and controlled health service, we strive to offer a holistic, culturally appropriate approach in all our services.

Our vision is one of Healthy People, Strong Communities, and Bright Futures.

We are experiencing a phase of expansion, with our client base doubling over the past three years. Our team comprises 15 dedicated Aboriginal health workers who play a crucial role in our efforts to align with our care model and work cohesively with the rest of our team.

We pride ourselves on delivering quality evidence-based clinical care in a holistic and culturally sensitive way, both in the clinic and through various outreach programmes. With GP Registrars of all stages, Aboriginal Health Workers, and Nursing and Medical students, we encourage regular teaching, education sessions and training.
